Its the battle between the "Grappler" and the "Striker" this Sunday when UFC 146 hits Las Vegas and Frank Mir clashes with Dos Santos in the mainevent of an exciting fight card. Frank Mir was a late replacement for the newest superstar to hit the sport Alistair Overeem after he was suspended for failing a bloodtest. Many fans were initally very upset at the replacement as everyone was anticipating watching these two massive strikers meet centre ring to decide who the utlimate striking champion was in UFC. Unfortunately this fight didnt occur and it is now up to Frank Mir to step up and offer an exciting match up to the fans after previously letting them down with a few subpar performances in his previous outings.
Frank Mir has stated that he is ready to make a real run for the UFC Title in this match and to offer up a real challenege to the reigning champion Dos Santos. Frank Mir has 8 submission finishes in his UFC career and Dos Santos has finished 5 opponents by either KO or TKO with the lone submission victory also coming from punches when he defeated Mirko Cro Cop by verbal submission at UFC 103 in Dallas.
I personally feel that the biggest key to this fight and who is victorious will be which fighter is able to handle himself best when out of his comfort zone and take control of the cage.
Either way it should be an exciting match up and the fight card promises some explosive match ups sure to impress the UFC Fans.
